2011-11-10shrm: sw reset: Save SW Reset Reason before resetPhilippe Langlais
Converts the reboot reason string received in SYSCALL_DEFINE4 in sys.c into a 2 bytes reset reason code. This 16 bit value is stored in the TCDM Memory at location: tcdm_base + 0xFF8. The string to code mapping structure has been added in file reboot_reasons.h and reboot_reasons.c. The code for translation has been placed in cpu.c. This patch does following: 1. Protects reset of char queues to prevent a potential kernel crash if MSR is run in rapid succession continuously without allowing the user-space to settle. 2. 2011-11-10x86, AMD: Fix APIC timer erratum 400 affecting K8 Rev.A-E processorsBoris Ostrovsky
commit e20a2d205c05cef6b5783df339a7d54adeb50962 upstream. Older AMD K8 processors (Revisions A-E) are affected by erratum 400 (APIC timer interrupts don't occur in C states greater than C1). This, for example, means that X86_FEATURE_ARAT flag should not be set for these parts. This addresses regression introduced by commit b87cf80af3ba4b4c008b4face3c68d604e1715c6 ("x86, AMD: Set ARAT feature on AMD processors") where the system may become unresponsive until external interrupt (such as keyboard input) occurs. This results, for example, in time not being reported correctly, lack of progress on the system and other lockups. Introduce otg_version field in usb_gadget struct.UDC can advertise OTG spec version compatibility by setting otg_version field appropriately. Gadget drivers fill the bcdOTG field in OTG descriptor based on UDC's OTG version. Add sysfs file for host_request and UDC returns the same when HNP polling request arrives from the host. loader boot time. The overhead is very low and the results will be found under sysfs/bootime, as well as detailed results in debugfs under boottime/. The bootgraph* files are compatible with scripts/bootgraph.pl. The reason for this patch is to provide data (sysfs/boottime) suitable for automatic testcases as well as help for developers to reduce the boot time (debugfs). Patch used for test purpose only. It is not plan to mainline it. Create debugfs entries to read/write specific DB8500 physical addresses. This is quite useless since devmem allows this userland access. However, debugfs entries are easier for scripting purpose.
