When BCMBUSTYPE is not defined, then BUSTYPE(bustype) is just
bustype. So comparing bustype and BUSTYPE(bustype) is not necessary.
This patch removes following build warning with gcc 6.

After enable writing the card's MAC address to filesystem by:
commit: LOCAL / net: bcm4358: Enable the some configurations
in the driver's code for bcmdhd4358, filesystem access is required
to read/write some settings, especially the card's MAC address.
Instead of calling proper fs functions, a direct calls were used
to particular file operations methods.
Since read/write operations are deprecated, the present code without
null pointer checking, refers to null function pointers.
This causes kernel panic when runs wpa_supplicant application.
This commit moves the direct calls to proper function calls,
which fixes the panic issue.

cfg80211: remove enum station_info_flags
This is really just duplicating the list of information that's
already available in the nl80211 attribute, so remove the list.
Two small changes are needed:
* remove STATION_INFO_ASSOC_REQ_IES complete, but the length
(assoc_req_ies_len) can be used instead
* add NL80211_STA_INFO_RX_DROP_MISC which exists internally
but not in nl80211 yet
This gets rid of the duplicate maintenance of the two lists.

[ Upstream commit 83d6f1f15f8cce844b0a131cbc63e444620e48b5 ]
Code that was added back in 2.6.38 has an obvious overflow
when accessing a static array, and at the time it was added
only a code comment was put in front of it as a reminder
to have it reviewed properly.
This has not happened, but gcc-6 now points to the specific
overflow:
drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath9k/eeprom.c: In function 'ath9k_hw_get_gain_boundaries_pdadcs':
drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath9k/eeprom.c:483:44: error: array subscript is above array bounds [-Werror=array-bounds]
maxPwrT4[i] = data_9287[idxL].pwrPdg[i][4];
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~^~~
It turns out that the correct array length exists in the local
'intercepts' variable of this function, so we can just use that
instead of hardcoding '4', so this patch changes all three
instances to use that variable. The other two instances were
already correct, but it's more consistent this way.
A number of new laptops have been delivered with only a single antenna.
In principle, this is OK; however, a problem arises when the on-board
EEPROM is programmed to use the other antenna connection. The option
of opening the computer and moving the connector is not always possible
as it will void the warranty in some cases. In addition, this solution
breaks the Windows driver when the box dual boots Linux and Windows.
A fix involving a new module parameter has been developed. This commit
adds the new parameter and implements the changes needed for the driver.
Until this patch, when TXing non-sta the pending_frames counter
wasn't increased, but it WAS decreased in
iwl_mvm_rx_tx_cmd_single(), what makes it negative in certain
conditions. This in turn caused much trouble when we need to
remove the station since we won't be waiting forever until
pending_frames gets 0. In certain cases, we were exhausting
the station table even in BSS mode, because we had a lot of
stale stations.
Increase the counter also in iwl_mvm_tx_skb_non_sta() after a
successful TX to avoid this outcome.
[ Upstream commit 62d7476d958ce06d7a10b02bdb30006870286fe2 ]
8000 device family has a new debug engine that needs to be
configured differently than 7000's.
The debug engine's DMA works in chunks of memory and the
size of the buffer really means the start of the last
chunk. Since one chunk is 256-byte long, we should
configure the device to write to buffer_size - 256.
This fixes a situation were the device would write to
memory it is not allowed to access.
[ Upstream commit f99551a2d39dc26ea03dc6761be11ac913eb2d57 ]
In commit 38506ecefab9 (rtlwifi: rtl_pci: Start modification for new
drivers), a bug was introduced that causes a NULL pointer dereference.
As this bug only affects the infrequently used RTL8192EE and only under
low-memory conditions, it has taken a long time for the bug to show up.
The bug was reported on the linux-wireless mailing list and also at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/ as
bug #1527603 (kernel crashes due to rtl8192ee driver on ubuntu 15.10).
commit f680f70adbeab28b35f849016b964dd645db6237 upstream.
The number of spatial streams that are derived from chain mask
for 4x4 devices is using wrong bitmask and conditional check.
This is affecting downlink throughput for QCA99x0 devices. Earlier
cfg_tx_chainmask is not filled by default until user configured it
and so get_nss_from_chainmask never be called. This issue is exposed
by recent commit 166de3f1895d ("ath10k: remove supported chain mask").
By default maximum supported chain mask is filled in cfg_tx_chainmask.
commit 1f9c6e1bc1ba5f8a10fcd6e99d170954d7c6d382 upstream.
There were several bugs here.
1) The done label was in the wrong place so we didn't copy any
information out when there was no command given.
2) We were using PAGE_SIZE as the size of the buffer instead of
"PAGE_SIZE - pos".
3) snprintf() returns the number of characters that would have been
printed if there were enough space. If there was not enough space
(and we had fixed the memory corruption bug #2) then it would result
in an information leak when we do simple_read_from_buffer(). I've
changed it to use scnprintf() instead.
I also removed the initialization at the start of the function, because
I thought it made the code a little more clear.
