This is particularly prudent with the introduction of /sys/devices/socX, as a device can now proclaim to be integral part of an SoC, rather than a more generic platform device. This patch provides a data structure of strings to populate the base nodes found in: /sys/devices/soc[0|1|2|...]/[family|machine|revision|soc_id]. It also adds one more node as requested by ST-Ericsson. 'process' depicts the way in which the silicon was manufactured. This will not do much by itself because the device from the device tree are not matched by any device driver until they are converted as well. The next step is to move over one device at a time to actually be used from the device tree instead of the hardcoded device using auxdata to pass the correct platform_data.
