2009-12-05Generic udelay() with watchdog supportIngo van Lil
According to the PPC reference implementation the udelay() function is responsible for resetting the watchdog timer as frequently as needed. Most other architectures do not meet that requirement, so long-running operations might result in a watchdog reset. 2009-10-24arm926ejs: 8-byte align stack to avoid LDRD/STRD problemsSimon Kagstrom
U-boot for Marvell Kirkwood boards no longer work after the EABI changes introduced in commit f772acf8a584067033eff1e231fcd1fb3a00d3d9. This turns out to be caused by a stack alignment issue. The armv5te instructions ldrd/strd instructions require 8-byte alignment to work properly (otherwise undefined behavior). 2009-09-01arm: Kirkwood: add SYSRSTn Duration Counter SupportPrafulla Wadaskar
This feature can be used to trigger special command "sysrstcmd" using reset key long press event and environment variable "sysrstdelay" is set (useful for reset to factory or manufacturing mode execution) Kirkwood SoC implements a hardware-based SYSRSTn duration counter. When SYSRSTn is asserted low, a SYSRSTn duration counter is running. The counter value is stored in the SYSRSTn Length Counter Register The counter is based on the 25-MHz reference clock (40ns) It is a 29-bit counter, yielding a maximum counting duration of 2^29/25 MHz (21.4 seconds). When the counter reach its maximum value, it remains at this value until counter reset is triggered by setting bit 31 of KW_REG_SYSRST_CNT Implementation: Upon long reset assertion (> ${sysrstdelay} in secs) sysrstcmd will be executed if pre-defined in environment variables. 2009-08-21ARM: compiler options cleanup - improve tool chain supportWolfgang Denk
For some time there have been repeated reports about build problems with some ARM (cross) tool chains. Especially issues about (in)compatibility with the tool chain provided runtime support library libgcc.a caused to add and support a private implementation of such runtime support code in U-Boot. A closer look at the code indicated that some of these issues are actually home-made. This patch attempts to clean up some of the most obvious problems and make building of U-Boot with different tool chains easier: - Even though all ARM systems basicy used the same compiler options to select a specific ABI from the tool chain, the code for this was distributed over all cpu/*/config.mk files. We move this one level up into lib_arm/config.mk instead. - So far, we only checked if "-mapcs-32" was supported by the tool chain; if yes, this was used, if not, "-mabi=apcs-gnu" was selected, no matter if the tool chain actually understood this option. There was no support for EABI conformant tool chains. This patch implements the following logic: 1) If the tool chain supports "-mabi=aapcs-linux -mno-thumb-interwork" we use these options (EABI conformant tool chain). 2) Otherwise, we check first if "-mapcs-32" is supported, and then check for "-mabi=apcs-gnu" If one test succeeds, we use the first found option. 3) In case 2), we also test if "-mno-thumb-interwork", and use this if the test succeeds. [For "-mabi=aapcs-linux" we set "-mno-thumb-interwork" mandatorily.] This way we use a similar logic for the compile options as the Linux kernel does. - Some EABI conformant tool chains cause external references to utility functions like raise(); such functions are provided in the new file lib_arm/eabi_compat.c Note that lib_arm/config.mk gets parsed several times, so we must make sure to add eabi_compat.o only once to the linker list. 2009-08-09mxc-mmc: sdhc host driver for MX2 and MX3 proccessorIlya Yanok
This is a port of Linux driver for SDHC host controller hardware found on Freescale's MX2 and MX3 processors. Uses new generic MMC framework (CONFIG_GENERIC_MMC) and it looks like there are some problems with a framework (at least on LE cpus). Some of these problems are addressed in the following patches. 2009-07-27Make include/common.h usable by assembler codeWolfgang Denk
Commit 70ebf316 factored out the ROUND() macro into include/common.h, not realizing that the primary use of this macro on AT91 systems was in start.S where common.h was not included, and could not be included because it contains a lot of C code which the assembler doesn't understand. Move the clock-rate dumping code into the cpu/.../davinci area where it should have been, enabled by CONFIG_DISPLAY_CPUINFO, updating the format and showing the DSP clock (where relevant). Add some basic declarations for DaVinci DM355/DM350/DM335 support, keyed on CONFIG_SOC_DM355. (DM35X isn't quite right because the DM357 is very different; while the DM355 is like a DM355 without the MPEG/JPEG coprocessor). These have different peripherals than the DM6446, and some of the peripherals are at different addresses. Split out DaVinci DM6446-specific bits from more generic bits: - Add a CONFIG_SOC_DM644X. All current boards use DM6446 chips; DM6443 and DM6441 chips differ in available peripherals. - Move most DM644X-specific bits from psc.c to a new dm644x.c file, which is conditionally built.
