2016-07-04package: move busybox show others dependency to per-packageThomas Petazzoni
Having the BR2_PACKAGE_BUSYBOX_SHOW_OTHERS dependencies in package/Config.in is not very practical: it makes this file not very readable, and puts the dependency away from the package itself, which can sometimes be confusing. Therefore, this commit moves the dependency in each package Config.in file. Signed-off-by: Thomas Petazzoni <thomas.petazzoni@free-electrons.com> Signed-off-by: Peter Korsgaard <peter@korsgaard.com>

2016-02-21package/gawk: add optional support for libsigsegvBernd Kuhls
When libsigsegv was compiled before, gawk will use it as optional dependency: $ output/host/usr/bin/x86_64-linux-readelf -a output/target/usr/bin/gawk | grep NEEDED 0x0000000000000001 (NEEDED) Shared library: [libsigsegv.so.2] [...] The build system offers no option to en-/disable libsigsegv support: http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/gawk.git/tree/m4/libsigsegv.m4 Signed-off-by: Bernd Kuhls <bernd.kuhls@t-online.de> Signed-off-by: Thomas Petazzoni <thomas.petazzoni@free-electrons.com>
2015-12-13package/gawk: add optional readline dependencyYann E. MORIN
The gawk debugger can optionally use readline for user input during the debugging session (for the usual autocompletion and stuff). Enable readline support when the readline package is enabled; let ./configure automatically find it. Forcibly disable readline support when the readline package is disabled. Signed-off-by: "Yann E. MORIN" <yann.morin.1998@free.fr> Cc: Peter Korsgaard <jacmet@uclibc.org> Reviewed-by: Arnout Vandecappelle (Essensium/Mind) <arnout@mind.be> Signed-off-by: Thomas Petazzoni <thomas.petazzoni@free-electrons.com>
2015-12-13package/gawk: clean the mpfr dependencyYann E. MORIN
When available, mpfr provides support for BIGNUM, which allows gawk to work on arbitrarily-large numbers (hence the name). Forcibly disable mpfr if the mpfr package is not enabled. Let ./configure find it automatically when it is enabled. To be noted, the host-gawk need not have BIGNUM to build the target variant with support for BIGNUM. Signed-off-by: "Yann E. MORIN" <yann.morin.1998@free.fr> Cc: Peter Korsgaard <jacmet@uclibc.org> Reviewed-by: Arnout Vandecappelle (Essensium/Mind) <arnout@mind.be> Signed-off-by: Thomas Petazzoni <thomas.petazzoni@free-electrons.com>
2015-12-02package/gawk: do not use readeline ormpfr in host variantYann E. MORIN
gawk has an optional dependency on mpfr (and thus gmp) and readline, and will probe for them. If they are present, they are used; if they are missing, that's not an error. mpfr (and gmp) is used for "BIGNUM" support on gawk; readline is used by the gawk debugger. However, mpfr (bringing gmp) are also host-packages in Buildroot, but in the standard build order (i.e. a plain 'make'), they are built after gawk. Ditto readline (from ncurses). If the user has the development files for gmp and mpfr, then gawk is linked to them. Ditto readline. Now, further on in the build, we build gmp and mpfr (for gcci or guile), so we install them in the host dir. Ditto readline (for gdb, ncurses itself and a few other packages...) But because we forcibly set an RPATH tag on all our host binaries, our host gawk will now dynamically link with our versions, when it was in fact built against the host ones. This did not seem to cause any harm so far, but is far from ideal. Since we do not really need BIGNUM or the debugger in our host gawk, we just forcibly disable them and configure gawk without readline or mpfr (there's no switch for gmp, but it's not a direct dependency, it comes just with mpfr). 2014-12-11Rename BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB to BR2_STATIC_LIBSThomas Petazzoni
Since a while, the semantic of BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB has been changed from "prefer static libraries when possible" to "use only static libraries". The former semantic didn't make much sense, since the user had absolutely no control/idea of which package would use static libraries, and which packages would not. Therefore, for quite some time, we have been starting to enforce that BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB should really build everything with static libraries. As a consequence, this patch renames BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB to BR2_STATIC_LIBS, and adjust the Config.in option accordingly. This also helps preparing the addition of other options to select shared, shared+static or just static. Note that we have verified that this commit can be reproduced by simply doing a global rename of BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB to BR2_STATIC_LIBS plus adding BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB to Config.in.legacy. 2013-11-10Config.in files: add missing dependencies to toolchain option commentsThomas De Schampheleire
When a package A depends on config option B and toolchain option C, then the comment that is given when C is not fulfilled should also depend on B. For example: config BR2_PACKAGE_A depends on BR2_B depends on BR2_LARGEFILE depends on BR2_WCHAR comment "A needs a toolchain w/ largefile, wchar" depends on !BR2_LARGEFILE || !BR2_WCHAR This comment should actually be: comment "A needs a toolchain w/ largefile, wchar" depends on BR2_B depends on !BR2_LARGEFILE || !BR2_WCHAR or if possible (typically when B is a package config option declared in that same Config.in file): if BR2_B comment "A needs a toolchain w/ largefile, wchar" depends on !BR2_LARGEFILE || !BR2_WCHAR [other config options depending on B] endif Otherwise, the comment would be visible even though the other dependencies are not met. This patch adds such missing dependencies, and changes existing such dependencies from depends on BR2_BASE_DEP && !BR2_TOOLCHAIN_USES_GLIBC to depends on BR2_BASE_DEP depends on !BR2_TOOLCHAIN_USES_GLIBC so that (positive) base dependencies are separate from the (negative) toolchain dependencies. This strategy makes it easier to write such comments (because one can simply copy the base dependency from the actual package config option), but also avoids complex and long boolean expressions. 2010-05-09gawk: remove CC overrideThomas Petazzoni
For some unknown reason, gawk.mk was overriding CC to $(TARGET_CC) at build time, while it had already been set at configure time to "$(TARGET_CC) $(TARGET_CFLAGS)" which is already the good value. Setting it to just $(TARGET_CC) breaks the compilation with external toolchains because we must pass the --sysroot option. But anyway, this was incorrect as we were loosing some CFLAGS set by Buildroot. Signed-off-by: Thomas Petazzoni <thomas.petazzoni@free-electrons.com>

The cleanup of $(TARGET_DIR)/usr/share/man, $(TARGET_DIR)/usr/man, $(TARGET_DIR)/usr/share/info, $(TARGET_DIR)/usr/info, $(TARGET_DIR)/usr/share/doc and $(TARGET_DIR)/usr/doc is already done globally in the main Makefile. 2007-03-07- some more CONFIG_UPDATEs by Haavard SkinnemoenBernhard Reutner-Fischer
2007-01-14fixup a whole steaming pile of insanity. When packages are configured,Eric Andersen
they should be configured with --prefix=/usr and we then need to use make DESTDIR=$(STAGING_DIR) install to get things installed into the staging directory. The current situation for many packages, which use --prefix=$(STAGING_DIR) results in the staging_dir paths getting compiled into the binary itself. This also adds in a pile of libtool fixups. Between broken pkgconfig, broken libtool handling, and broken --prefix settings, its a wonder things have worked as well as they have up till now. -Erik
